This is the final version of my script to edit for the video essay. It has been written in a different way to regular filmic script because I am the only person speaking, with cutaways associated to what is being said. However this doesn’t guarantee that I will edit it in exactly the same way, It really depends on how the imagery flows and if it is too repetitive or not.
I have kept the Links in the script so that I will have easy access to to the pages in case I want to screen record.
With the results that I gained from the Survey I conducted, I have ensured that the word count would keep the duration of the Video Essay at 10 minutes. The aim is for the Video Essay to be at a high quality both visually and informationally. I have aimed to to write this to include facts and figures on cobalt mining, whilst also including attempting to challenge the audience- keeping the balance, as I am don’t believe that most of the viewers have an understanding of both the supply chain and effects on human rights as well as environment. So I am attempting to be both academic and polemic to keep audience attention.
The feedback I received from staff and students in the survey all stipulate that a video essay is a great way to disseminate information on serious topics, such as social justice and climate justice.
